Battle of the Books
If you are a voracious reader, Battle of the Books could be for you! Using a booklist that has been selected by library media specialists statewide, Battle of the Books tests a four-person team who compete against other teams statewide.
Waupaca High School joined the statewide senior division of competitive BoB during the 2012-13 school year. The team representing WHS scored an impressive 5th statewide. In its second year, the team took Waupaca High to an even more impressive 3rd place win statewide (2014 competition). Even if you have no interest in competing, check out these titles for your next favorite book! The annual list is composed based upon award-winning books representing a range of content and general appeal to young adult readers. Battle of the Books (we like to use the simplified BoB) is a program that is sponsored in Wisconsin by WEMTA, the Wisconsin Educational Media & Technology Association (that's the state professional group for school librarians). If you are interested in joining Battle of the Books, please see Mrs. Nowicki in the IMC. |
